On August 14, 2023, the Starocherkassk Army Cathedral of Christ’s Resurrection prayerfully celebrated the feast of the Procession of the Precious Wood of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Head of the Don Metropolia, Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk. His Eminence was co-served by the senior priest of the cathedral, archpriest Valery Voloshchuk, secretary of the diocesan administration of the Rostov-on-Don diocese, priest Dimitri Bolotaev, acting vicar of the Don Starocherkassk Ephraim Monastery, hieromonk Sergius (Kolomits), as well as clerics ordained by Metropolitan over the past year.

On the day of the celebration of the Procession of the Precious Wood of the Life-giving Cross, 12 years have passed since the first divine service of the ruling bishop on the Don land.
