On the eve of the feast of the Icon of the Mother of God “Donskaya”, the sisters of mercy of the Church of St. John the Warrior organized a pilgrimage trip to our cathedral for pensioners of the Optimist club of the Center for Social Services of the Population of the Sovetsky district of Rostov-on-Don.

Sister of mercy Valentina Kizhikina told the guests about the history, interior and shrines of the oldest temple in the South of Russia. The pilgrims were greatly impressed by the interior of the cathedral. Among the participants of the trip were those who visited the cathedral for the first time and expressed their enthusiastic impressions of the Don shrine. The tour continued with a walk through the village of Starocherkasskaya, songs and dances to the accordion, and at the end the sisters of mercy invited the guests to tea in the refectory of the Army Cathedral of Christ’s Resurrection.
