On March 23, the Army Cathedral of Christ’s Resurrection was visited by a restorer from St. Petersburg, Ivan Yuryevich Prokhin, to give his recommendations and build a plan of restoration. Ivan Yurievich examined the painting of the altar, made several soil fixes of problem areas and a number of washouts to see the layering of the painting, and also took samples of wall paintings for study in the laboratory. Analyzing the painting under ultraviolet rays, one can see the later restoration records.
