The day of the Founding of the Resurrection Cathedral (Holy Sepulchre) at Jerusalem is the feast day of our cathedral. On this day, according to tradition, the service was performed in the Easter rite. The words “Christ is risen!” filled our hearts with joy again, reminded us that life eventually triumphs over death, that God has done everything for our salvation, and the theme of the Resurrection should be the tuning fork of our entire Christian life!

The Divine Liturgy was led by the senior priest of the cathedral, archpriest Valery Voloshchuk. He was co-served by the  clergy who began their pastoral life in our parish: the dean of the Western District, senior priest of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, priest Alexander Litvinenko, head of the diocesan Department for Youth and Missionary Service, senior priest of the Martyr Tatiana church Dionysius Sakovich, senior priest of the church of St. Seraphim of Sarov Alexander Oreshin, as well as the clergy of the parish, Priest John Tsupko, Priest Sergiy Kropivnitsky and protodeacon Alexander Smaglo.

Also today, the honored guest of our cathedral was a political and public figure, writer Zakhar Prilepin.
