Exactly 100 years ago, the genocide of the Cossacks began in our country. On January 24, 1919, the Orgbureau of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), considering the idea of decossackization, adopted a directive: “To all responsible comrades working in Cossack districts,” which initiated the extermination of the Cossack people.

On this mournful day, a memorial service took place in the cathedral and then people processioned to the Ratnensky church, in which also senior priest Valery Voloshchuk and ataman of the Don Army Viktor Goncharov took part.
